Why fairerjob@logistics

The fairerjob@logistics seal gives companies in the logistics sector the opportunity to present themselves to motivated employees and improve their image as an employer.

Companies in the sector suffer unfairly from the dubious image that some companies and negative headlines have. Many, if not most, domestic companies in the logistics sector are better employers than the industry's reputation. The fairerjob@logistics seal gives companies the opportunity to highlight their social benefits and what they offer their employees. And they send a signal to the public that the industry does not have to hide behind other sectors of the economy.

Logistics is the third largest economic sector in Germany after the automotive industry and trade. Around 3.3 million people work in more than 90,000 logistics companies in Germany: in transportation, freight forwarding, inland shipping, works traffic, parcel and courier services, furniture removal companies, on seagoing vessels, in ports, at airports, in warehouses, workshops and in countless other places. As drivers, warehouse workers, dispatchers, parcel deliverers, furniture specialists, pilots, forklift drivers, freight forwarders, barge operators, machine operators and in countless other professions, they ensure that people in this country are supplied with all the goods they need. It is thanks to them that the economy in Germany can produce every day and that goods and merchandise reach their customers nationally and worldwide. In 2023 alone, German companies transported 2.9 billion tons of goods by road, from food, electrical appliances, furniture, clothing, parcels and vehicles of all kinds to building materials, raw materials, heating products, chemical products and entire plants.

These millions of men and women, who supply our society at any time of day or night and keep the economy running with their efforts, are entitled to fair working conditions and appreciation - from their employers and the public. With the fairerjob@logistics seal, employers in the sector prove that they not only provide outstanding logistics services, but also value their staff and treat them according to high social standards. The seal gives employees in the sector the opportunity to find out which companies offer high social standards. And the sector is given the opportunity to demonstrate transparently, in a neutral manner and based on objective criteria, that it meets the conditions negotiated by the social partners and often goes well beyond them. Last but not least, clients in the sector are given the opportunity to take social conditions into account when awarding contracts in addition to a pure price orientation when awarding contracts.

The fairerjob@logistics seal therefore helps everyone!
