Full payment of expenses
a financial compensation if you are on the road all day.
If you are on the road all day, you have different expenses than employees who work at the company headquarters. To compensate for these expenses, there are expenses. Formally, expenses are actually the so-called additional expenses for meals and other expenses in connection with work that does not take place at the employer's premises. Colloquially, the term "expenses" refers to the so-called flat-rate expense allowance (= additional meal expenses). In Germany, this amounts to 14 euros if you are on the road for at least 8 hours and 28 euros if you are on the road for the whole day, i.e. more than 24 hours. If you are away from home for your company on two consecutive days with an overnight stay, you will receive the 14 euros per day even if the period of absence on one or both days is less than 8 hours. Expenses are tax-free for you. If you spend the night in a truck on a tour lasting several days, your employer can grant you a lump sum of eight euros per night.
The regulation on increased expenses is described in an additional article. There is no legal obligation for the employer to pay expenses. If the employer does not pay expenses, you can claim these amounts as advertising costs on your tax return.
In order to receive the fairerjob@logistics seal, employers must pay at least the full amount of the flat-rate expense allowance. We deliberately do not include the accommodation allowance in the requirements for the seal.
