Free provision of parking spaces for employees

The employer can provide its employees with parking spaces free of charge. This is an "optional benefit". In principle, employers can also charge for parking spaces. Most employers provide their employees with free parking spaces. These do not necessarily have to be on the company premises, but they are usually at least in the immediate vicinity. Where parking spaces are located may also depend on the parking space regulations of the respective municipality. If no parking spaces are available on the company's own premises, companies can also rent parking spaces.
