All training occupations are currently undergoing change and naturally integrate future technologies of digitalization in a wide variety of forms, from the use of artificial intelligence to the use of drones and autonomous systems.
Professional driver
Professional drivers are responsible for the safe transportation of goods and passengers on the road. Their tasks include driving trucks or buses, planning routes and checking and maintaining the vehicles. The training usually lasts three years and is dual, i.e. combined in the training company and at vocational school. After successful completion, there are opportunities for further training, for example to become a master driver or transport specialist, which can lead to management positions.

Inland skipper
Inland navigation specialists steer and monitor ships on inland waterways such as rivers and canals, transport goods or people and maintain the ships. The dual training generally lasts three years and combines practical experience on board with theoretical instruction. After successful completion, there are opportunities for further training, for example to become a skipper or master for inland navigation.

Specialist in courier, express and postal services
As a specialist for courier, express and postal services, you will ensure that letters and parcels reach their recipients reliably. Your main tasks include sorting consignments, planning delivery routes and making deliveries by vehicle, bicycle or on foot. You will advise customers and receive consignments and payments from them, invoice and document consignments.
The training lasts 2 years and is dual, i.e. combined in the company and vocational school. After successful completion, there is the option to extend the apprenticeship by a further year in order to obtain a qualification as a courier, express and postal services clerk.

As a specialist for furniture, kitchen and removal services, you will be responsible for the delivery, assembly and installation of furniture and kitchens for customers. As an office management assistant, you will carry out organizational and commercial/administrative tasks. For example, you will handle correspondence, design presentations, procure office supplies, plan and monitor appointments, prepare meetings and organize business trips.
